These terms cover your use of Welcl Buddy. The site is free to read and there is nothing to sign up for, so most of what follows is simply an explanation of what we publish, what you may do with it, and who stands behind it.
1. Acceptance of terms
By visiting Welcl Buddy you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site. We have tried to keep the language plain rather than legalistic; where a phrase sounds formal, it is because it needs to be precise.
2. About the service
Welcl Buddy is a free travel-editorial magazine about Korea, Japan, and China. We publish guides, food writing, and cultural background for people planning a trip or curious about the region.
The site is information only. We do not sell tickets, take bookings, arrange tours, process payments, or act as an agent for any hotel, restaurant, or operator mentioned in an article. There is no account to create and nothing to buy.
3. Content and accuracy
Articles are written with AI and published automatically. They are not reviewed by a person before publication; errors are corrected after publication when they are found or reported. How articles are produced is described on the Editorial Standards page.
Everything here is published in good faith, but AI-written text can be wrong and travel details go stale quickly. Prices, opening hours, transport routes, seasonal closures, and entry rules change without notice, and a place that was worth the detour last spring may have closed. Please confirm the practical details with the venue or an official source before you travel. We do not warrant that any article is accurate, complete, or current.
4. Intellectual property
The article text, the Welcl Buddy name and logo, and the site design belong to (주)구윤유남. Cover photographs are not ours: they are third-party images used under Creative Commons licences, credited under each image with a link to the original, and remain subject to their creators' licence terms. Covers credited "Illustration: Welcl Buddy (AI)" are AI-generated illustrations made for the site.
You are welcome to read, print, and share links to our articles for personal, non-commercial use. Republishing, bulk copying, translating, or redistributing our content, in whole or in substantial part, requires our written permission. Short quotations are fine when you credit Welcl Buddy and link back to the original article.
5. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- interfere with the site's operation, security, or availability, including by sending requests at a rate that degrades the site for other readers;
- attempt to access anything that is not publicly published;
- use the site or its content for any unlawful purpose.
Which automated crawlers may access which parts of the site is set out in our robots.txt file. Crawling the site does not grant any right to republish its content beyond what section 4 allows.
6. Third-party links and advertising
Articles link to outside websites, and some pages carry promotions for Local Buddy, our sister service. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or their handling of your data. Following an external link is at your own discretion.
This site carries advertising served by third parties, including Google AdSense. Advertisers and their partners may use cookies to select the ads you see. What that involves, and how to opt out of personalised advertising, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms from time to time. Any revision is posted on this page and takes effect when it is posted, with the effective date at the top updated to match. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes arising from them fall to the courts of the Republic of Korea. This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
